New Earth Theatre and Park Theatre presents a FREE writing workshop.
Applications are open for a free two-day TV writing workshop on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th February for ESEA* writers led by the creator of Kim’s Convenience**, Ins Choi. The workshop will take place in person at Park Theatre, London.
Selected ESEA writers will be led through the nuts and bolts of a TV sitcom writing room experience demystifying the process in this fun, hands on writing workshop. Selected writers will pitch ideas, develop stories, outline, script, work individually and in groups over the course of two days. Writers will need to be available for both days all day as it’s cumulative in nature.
Previous participants have been writers of film, TV, plays, sketch comedy, improv, stand up, fiction of varying experiences with an open spirit to creative adventure, learning, community building and a commitment to their craft.
* We use the term ESEA to mean those who identify as East Asian or South East Asian living and working in the UK. East and South East Asian descent includes: Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, China, East Timor, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, North Korea, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and their Diasporas.
** Kim’s Convenience is at the Park Theatre, London, from 8 January to 10 February.
