Congratulations to this year’s 2016 Yellow Earth Academy cohort who undertook a 2 week intensive course in movement, voice, acting for camera and approaches to text work led by David Lee -Jones and Ng Ping Choon from Yellow Earth and tutors from ALRA. There were talks on casting and the industry with actors Daniel York and Gabby Wong.
A session entitled ‘Why Drama School?’ explored actor training with YET Artistic Associate Tina Chiang and Sara Houghton from The Oxford School of Drama. The students also went to see Shangri-La by Amy Ng (one of our writers’ on the Professional Writers Programme) at the Finborough and by contrast Coriolanus and Du Liniang by the Yue Opera Group from China at the Peacock Theatre.
The week culminated on Friday evening with an impressive public presentation by the students of scenes from Love and Information by Caryl Churchill.
Congratulations to all of them and to directors David Lee-Jones and Ng Ping Choon for an excellent evening and to all those who came. Last but not least a big thank you to ALRA as always, for supporting the Academy.
