We believe that the arts offer a unique way to engage with one another, they allow us to celebrate our similarities and differences, to explore our feelings and emotions, and ultimately to discover a deeper understanding of our ever-changing global world.
New Earth Theatre offers a range of stand alone workshops for schools keen to introduce students to East and Southeast Asian culture and arts. We offer drama, storytelling and shadow puppet workshops plus dance and music workshops on request. (See the details below) We can also arrange bespoke projects to suit your needs.
All our facilitators and workshop leaders are of East/Southeast Asian descent. They combine an understanding of the western education system with the skills, language and cultural background of their heritage. All facilitators are DBS checked and experienced at working with a range of ages.
Chinese Words & Songs
Suitable for Foundation/KS1/KS2
A fun and practical workshop, children have a chance to learn about the Chinese language, spoken and written (Cantonese & Mandarin) through simple songs and movement, playground games, and storytelling.
Festive Stories, Chinese Legends & Folktales
Suitable for Foundation KS1/KS2
Stories to suit the occasion, be it New Year or Mid Autumn Festival a storytelling presentation – followed by engaging the children in presenting these stories in action.
Teaching Mandarin through Drama
Suitable for KS3/KS4 + Yrs 12 +13
