Behind the Chinese Take Away

Behind the Chinese Take Away

Directed by Erika Tan & David K.S. Tse

September 1997

Multi-media exploration of the British Chinese diaspora during the 1997 Hong Kong handover back to China. Created from oral history, the fears and aspirations of this “invisible” community are made public using video, photography, live music and physical theatre.

What emerges is a collage of diversity, both traditional and hip, reflected in shifting moods and images.
